Hi Mama! I’m Rachael, the owner/writer of rachaelmegan.com, and I’m so happy you’re here! I’m a mom to a rambunctious little girl and wife to a hardworking man. I started my first blog back in 2012 and motherhood has inspired me to get back into writing.

Mama, You’re Not Alone

My daughter was born in 2019 and life, as I knew it, had completely changed. I never knew I could love something or someone so much. Yet, despite an immense amount of love, I became overwhelmed by fear; an unhealthy amount of fear that I now know to be postpartum anxiety or PPA. I had never heard of PPA until reading about another mother’s experience on Instagram.

My purpose in starting this blog is to create more awareness around postpartum anxiety and share my experience with it in hopes that other mothers who may be walking the same valley wouldn’t feel so alone.

If you’re new here, be sure to check out my posts titled, “When It’s More Than Worry: A New Mama’s Guide To Postpartum Anxiety,” and “5 Things I Want to Help New Mothers With.” It’s a great place to start!

A Little More About Me

When I’m not writing, you can find me teaching, organizing, reading, listening to music, watching reruns of Friends and movies I’ve seen a thousand times, and spending as much time with my little family as I can. Some other things about me…

  1. I grew up in a small town in West Virginia where I still call home.
  2. I aspire to be one of those “morning” people who take on the world before sun up.
  3. My drink of choice is a hot cup of coffee from my favorite barista: my husband.
  4. Keep your chips you “salty” people (well…except the BBQ ones), and give me ALL the sweets!
  5. I’m more of an introvert, until you get to know me.
  6. When I get stressed, I need a long shower and a moody Pandora station.
  7. If “music” was a love language, it would be mine. I think “Words of Affirmation” is my actual love language.
  8. I have two masters degrees. One in elementary education and one in reading.
  9. I have been teaching full-time for the last 11 years.
  10. My family is my world, and I would do anything for them.

I can’t wait to connect with you!

Sincerely,

Rachael Megan
